Sharron Tancred always achieved straight A's for Art at school.  Upon leaving school, she studied Illustration, Art History and Curatorship at degree level at The Queensland College Of Art.  Following this Sharron studied Graphic Design and Illustration in a Diploma course at The Commercial Art Training College.

Sharron worked as a junior graphic designer and illustrator at Nouveau Image Design for 3 years before leaving to work in advertising for 3 years in London. She returned to Brisbane and freelanced until 1999 with intermittant travel stints, in fact Sharron has now been to an astounding 52 countries.

She left her first marriage, gained another Diploma in computer graphics, met her now husband Peter and then worked 3 years in a Brisbane advertising agency, Carlo Marchese Advetising, as the Senior Designer and Illustrator with her own exclusive list of clients. At this point Sharron was creating large canvases for event auctions and boardrooms specialising in collage.

Sharron left the agency to start her family and begin Great Graphical Adventures, her own design studio. When her children were 4 and 2, Sharron painted canvases as Christmas gifts with her children to match her parent's decor and was inspired about tailored art.

A girlfriend, Tracie Dunne who owned the Beaumont School of Interior Decorating and Design, suggested Sharron do the certificate course and she did! In the same year Sharron also completed the school's certificate in Colour Psychology.

After only 10 months in business Sharron was awarded a high commendation for 'the most innovative and emotionally engaging business entry' in the Pine Rivers Shire Small Business Success Story Competition. She was then nominated as Best New Local Business for 2008, after which she won a Highly Commended Award for the Regional Arts and Culture Achievements Award 2009. 2010 saw the then 'Works For Your House' win first prize in the retail section of the Quest Business Achiever's Awards for Pine Rivers whilst being nominated yet again for the Regional Achievement Awards.

In November of 2009 Works For Your House became an incorporated company. A year later, Sharron formed a partnership with her oldest friend and highly experienced business manager, Orfelia Young.  Together they exhibited at the 2010 September and 2011 March Brisbane Courier Mail Sunday Mail Home Shows followed by the HIA Builders and Renovators Expo at the Brisbane Convention Center.
