Private workshops are held at our studio over 1 or 2 days as a fun, cultural and productive insight into the world of art.  You will revel in the experience of painting to sounds of the Blues, Classical and Rock, enjoy a gourmet lunch and, at day's end, feel immensely proud of yourself, having achieved your vision, knowing you can proudly sign and show off your signature and art treasure to visitors.

'La Alhambra Espanola'

Client Brief - Natalie and husband Matthew are partners in Brisbane building company val eco Homes Pty Ltd which creates quality, designer homes for modern families.  Having finally found the time to focus on her own home's bare walls, Natalie was inspired to step out of her comfort zone and experience a private art workshop with our energetic artist/director, Sharron Tancred.  But, what to create?

Our Strategy - It is often worthwhile to also meet the husband at appointment.  Natalie and Sharron initially designed a beautiful Mayan inspired artwork based on where the couple would like venture for a holiday; but, Matthew preferred a design based on a holiday they had actually experienced, hence, another design and 'La Alhambra Espanola' was born.  We created this around the famous Spanish castle itself and researched imagery from the region ie flowers, sculpture, mountains, etc.  Not an easy oil painting for Natalie being a beginner, but look at the results!  Wow!

The Outcome -  Natalie adores her original oil painting and decor tips and from this, took up our recommendation to study at The Beaumont School of Interior Decorating and Design so that she could do more within her role at val eco Homes. The company has since commissioned corporate artworks and, their business partners likewise, a series of residential artworks.  Thanks Natalie and Matthew, we truly appreciate your support.

'The Retreat'

Client Brief - Katie, co-owner of Cleanworks Pty Ltd, had been searching for an artwork to suit the sizing of the walls her elegant Queenslander home at Bardon.  Searching for an artist online, Katie found us and loved the thought of an art experience with Sharron Tancred.  At Katie's appointment, she revealed to Sharron that she and her fiancee's dream was to own a particular style of home on top of a mountain with sheep and a Jacaranda tree. 

Our Strategy - Using Katie's references, we created a digital proof for her approval, projected it onto her custom made and framed canvas and prepared for the big day.  Katie's private workshop was an absolute hoot! Laughs, stories, music, Asian cuisine, sparkling mineral water, gourmet snacks ... it was fun and Katie felt herself relax.

The Outcome -  'The Retreat' is a beautiful painting that adds colour, texture and relevance to Katie's living area while encourages them to work for their dream when they can see it every day. At appointment, we showed Katie how to increase colour in her space by scattering it for balance and gave her tips as to what was required and where items could be sourced. Katie later commissioned abstract corporate artworks for Cleanworks. As a birthday gift for her business partner, Katie also commissioned Sharron to create a large artwork that would encourage her partner's vision of her dream home.  Thank you Katie!

'The Virgins'

Client Brief - Michelle has a love of Gustav Klimt's paintings but, given these originals are worth a fortune, she asked us to work with her to paint 'The Virgins' using Klimt's style and in her decor colours. Having seen our display at the Home Show in 2011, Michelle requested we also Glass Coat her artwork for it's glossy effect.

Our Strategy - Michelle's new bedroom and linen is on it's way as they are currently renovating, but it is very easy for us to simply sample colours from a brochure or an online site with the help of Photoshop.  We organised Michelle's canvas and projected her design ready for an incredibly busy day painting.  Even though this is a small artwork, it is the detail that takes the time! After the session, we Glass Coated her artwork successfully and 'Wow!' what an effect.

The Outcome - Michelle and Sharron had such a brilliant day together while husband Michael relaxed in our studio lounge. Michelle is now a proud advocate of our service and loves her artwork and its personal relevance.

'Hazy Moon Cherry Tree'

Client Brief - Karen had just had surgery and was spending her time at home recuperating as best she could but was getting bored and restless. A friend suggested an art class would give her something to do, but she also had a wall in her New Farm apartment's bedroom to fill, so, she called us. Karen already had a few ideas of what she wanted and even had pictures, which is great and makes the process so much easier. So, the workshop was booked!

Our Strategy - On the day, Sharron and Karen worked very hard whilst chatting about art, the Law Of Attraction, recuperation, getting back to work, philosophy, books they were reading, music, all whilst painting a delightful full moon behind a Cherry Tree over a metallic gold square pattern, toned to reflect the light of the moon ... which took most of the day.

The Outcome - It was a big job and Karen thought they weren't going to make it there at one stage, but Sharron never fails to deliver ... even managing to serve up a yummy Chicken Hoi Sin for lunch! Karen loved her art and had a great day.
